Part Time Evil is looking for a well-rounded, talented Project Manager to join our team for a contract engagement with possible extension into a full-time position.
Part Time Evil, LLC:
Part Time Evil, LLC (www.PartTimeEvil.com) is an immersive story studio based in Austin, Texas. We create VR and AR products and experiences across industries and use cases from short films to entertainment experiences to education tools.
You are interested in VR/AR/MR products and in the creation of innovative products in general. We are a startup-sized studio, so only fun, kind, humble, and professional collaborators who enjoy working with others will fit the team. You are comfortable working with a remote teams and clients across the globe and time zones.
You have experience managing digital products from concept through launch, from mobile apps to location-based entertainment experiences. You are excellent communicating across all levels, from internally with multidisciplinary teams to executive-level clients. You are cool under pressure and flexible--comfortable adapting your broad array of experience with processes, tools, and approaches to new situations and team types.
You think strategically, always considering the big picture, but you are also a badass at facilitating the day-to-day details of a team’s progress to help them succeed. You may be a process and tech geek, but you are a empathetic people-person, first and foremost.
Though we prefer the candidate be in the Austin, TX area, remote candidates are also encouraged to apply.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following
Craft weekly and daily goals for multi-disciplinary team of 3D character and environment artists, concept artists, developers, engineers, QA analysts, and creative director.
Communicate with client decision-makers to stakeholders in a way that 1) instills confidence in our process and team 2) clarifies goals and objectives and 3) manages and mitigates project risk.
Incorporate key considerations from user research, business requirements, and design intent into your project management decisions and team communications
Manage task progress and facilitate daily/ hourly communication between team members
Communicate progress and risks to studio leadership
Create and maintain clear project artifacts
Demonstrable ability to manage up to two large projects well at any given time
Working understanding of the 3D design and development pipeline (ex. Maya, Unity, etc)
Experience working with global product launches with localization and regionalization needs
Experience with common issue tracking software, like Github and JIRA.
Experience in using Excel and Google Sheets.
Experience with distribution products like Testflight and Hockey.
Self-organized and results-focused work ethic.
- Experience in implementing and running Agile teams.
- Fluency with communication software like Slack and Hipchat.
3-5 years of experience managing design-centric technology projects at product organizations or agency
At least two 2 years of experience at a consultancy or agency
Experience working with 3D preferred (immersive games, VR, AR, MR)
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university, or equivalent training (required).
